Here are two sites that will give you valuable information on email etiquette. You’re sure to find an answer to something you’ve wondered about, especially the use of the Bcc field.

Mac For Beginners

I keep running into wonderful programs that I think people would love to get, if they knew they were out there. So I have decided to start writing about them here. Why do I think you would like them? Because they are free or cheap. That’s what I like, cheap or free!

Here are my first three programs, with more to come:

What Would You Like To Know? How To Do .... What?
by Del Conkright

I love helping people do things. I can’t do it when I don’t know what it is they want to do. Some people are too embarrassed to ask. Some people are too busy to come to our meetings so they can ask. Some people forget when they are at the meeting what it was they wanted to do the other day but didn’t know how. Some people wished they had a program that did something such as change a file type, movie type, or picture type. Some people think their question is too stupid. You get my point.

iPhone: Two thumbs down
http://www.macsimumnews.com/
Back when Apple came out with Software Update 1.1.1 for the iPhone, it added a shortcut for adding a period at the end of a sentence by simply tapping the space bar twice. At the same time, it also added a space, so you could keep right on typing.
Well, for those of you that like to type with two thumbs, to make things even faster, simply tap the space bar with two thumbs and this will produce the same effect as tapping the space bar twice.

Now go over to Mac611.com on your iPhone/iPod touch, tap on the “iPhone-Related Sites” button, scroll down to “iPhone Typing Test” and see just how fast you can type—either with one finger or two thumbs.

Using Spotlight as a calculator!
from Tips4Mac.com
A great tip submitted by Paul Dibben: Using Spotlight as a calculator! Starting with Leopard, it is possible to use Spotlight as a calculator. It is much quicker than loading the dashboard and using the calculator widget.

There’s no need to load anything up to the web or create an online version to collaborate. Remote users can even share control of your keyboard and mouse, whether it’s a Mac or PC, and do not need to download any client software when using the new Web Share feature.

Do You Like to Run or Walk - by Del Conkright

I enjoy running but lately I am starting to like walking more. Whether you like to run or walk, have you ever wondered how far you walked? Have you thought how far is it around the subdivision or some such thought of how far was that?
